On a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, his pre-algebra teacher Mrs. Dodds 14 corners him in an empty gallery, demanding he confess to something he doesn't understand. He's a satyr, and something monstrous is behind him. Percy's mother Sally 6 drives them through the storm toward a summer camp on Long Island that Percy's 1 absent father once wanted him to attend. Lightning flips the car. A seven-foot creature with an enormous bull's head lumbers toward them through the rain. They haul unconscious Grover 3 uphill, but the Minotaur catches Sally. 6 She dissolves into shimmering golden light.
